I'll start by saying it's not worth what you pay. Book as far in advance as possible to get it cheaper as it's really not very big. The animals that are here seem well cared for in nice tanks. The decor is quite nice but the actual building seemed a little run down. When we went they were doing building work on the upper levels which can account for the shorter time spent there and we were given free return tickets for when it is finished.The penguins and underwater tunnel are the highlights, but the centre is aimed more towards children than teens/adults. There is also a small 4D cinema that didn't have the 3D working when we saw it, but it was interesting and fun nonetheless. The gift shop at the end is well stocked also. Parking is right next door and the whole place isn't signposted well at all, but we arrived and left easily enough. If you are in the area book in advance, and if you have kids it is very much worth it.
It was great fun for the value. My 5 years old niece loved it! We got to touch the starfish which was very unusual. The only disappointment was the cinema. We were not given 3 d glasses for the 4 d film. This is the reason why I am giving 4 starts. Great day out for kids.
We were not pre-booked & on paying, we were told we couldn't go in for about an hour - there's strict control over the numbers in the building. We took the opportunity too grab a coffee nearby & return at the designated time & you're not allowed in until that time. The tanks hold a collection of species. You don't get a guaranteed sighting of some. The glass tunnel under the water lets you see the sharks, rays & turtles swim alongside & over you giving excellent views. The cinema shows a short educational cartoon. The place lets you see a number of species from the wonderful natural world.
Penguins in a little room... Its shocking beyond believe how humans we feel like the boss of the world and we thing that we have the rights to close animals for tourists and do big money. I hope that one day I would see humans inside cages and animals visiting us! Close this place or put your kids in the room like penguins... Great example for our country and our future generations... ;)
Not my first visit here but the first with 2 children. It was Amazing for both my just 2 year old and 7 month old. Also really fun for the adults too! The 4d showing of the polar express kept a very 'spirited' 2 year old engaged the whole time! The Santa's grotto was also a nice touch. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend for all ages at any time of year.
