Beautiful building and lovely staff. Paintings are fabulous. Courses for different types of people is a wonderful idea x

Amazing free (voluntary donation 5) fine art museum, a place to see Degas, Turner and some amazing pieces up close in relative peace and quiet.Highly recommended.

Fabulous gem of a gallery. Hidden away in the university campus. Some beautiful paintings charting history of western art. Quiet uncrowded and one of my favourite galleries to sit in and sketch.

A lovely art gallery, compact but full of brilliant pieces and a surprising number of famous artists' work. They have various exhibitions throughout the year that are always thoughtful and really well curated. There is also a concert hall that stages regular and varied concerts that are normally high quality and very competitively priced- well worth spending a few hours in

Ive been here many times with friends and various groups. The last few visits have been with the Focus art group whom I volunteer for fortnightly, these are visually impaired people and we like to take them out sometimes for something different and it gives them inspiration. We are well looked after by the staff at the Barber and our group is split into two and a couple of pictures are described and explained in detail by two lovely ladies. We also have tea, coffee and biscuits provided at a fair price. This is arranged in conjunction with our group leader, Ian who is himself visually impaired and a retired art teacher.I highly recommend a visit here if you enjoy classical art.
