As for the application itself regardless of any legal services, my advise to anyone is to focus on the details and make sure all the information provided is accurate (i.e. no typos). In my case they helped me with a Tier 2 General visa application from within the UK (change of employer). On an occasion, UK Migration Lawyers did ask me for some documents that seem were not needed, such as an address history where I've been since all time in the UK. I just provided a proof of address from my current address and this was sufficient. When my application was approved, my documents were returned to UK Migration Lawyers. When this happened they asked to my future employer where they (my future employer) wanted to send the documents. Of course my future employer said they should be sent to me. I hope this was a mistake and an one-off situation, and that they will NEVER do this again to anyone as these are extremely personal and important documents, and should not be in the possession of anyone but the owner.
