Typical multiplex cinema. Expensive snacks. Not very clean: the floor was crunchy and sticky, obviously no proper cleaning between shows. Easy booking online and easy ticket collection using automated box office. Often very busy but good car parking.
We use this cinema a lot and have always enjoyed it.Tonight however we felt well and truly ripped off.We saw Glass in the IMAX at 13.25 each. Sat there with our glasses at the ready only to find out that it was 2D!We have used the IMAX many times and always in 3D. Wasn't aware that 2D was an option but apparently Glass is not in 3D at all. The Empire Cinema listing for Glass IMAX says "Also available in 2D'! So one would assume it's in 3D. The manager wasn't really interested and just kept saying we had the full IMAX experience.Not sure how we got that when our IMAX glasses were still in my pocket.Won't fall for this con again.
One of my favourite cinemas in Birmingham. No fuss, no gimmick viewing. I regularly go with friends as well as my children. Screen seating is large and very clean. There is always a good choice of options with the films and the junior club is great . There are food deals on and prices are reasonable. Saturday mornings are great if you are looking to pull a bit of time with the kids and it's pretty quite. There is free parking for cinema users for up to 5 hours. Bar upstairs for evening viewings and plenty of other restaurants nearby if you fancy good as well. This cinema also has 3d and IMAX options which is good.
Visit a few times a year.Comfortable multi-plex. ( I think that's the modern terminology )Find it's a little more reasonable regarding price than it's local competitors. Although wherever you go, one always pays too much for the confections. Staff usually helpful and friendly. Plenty of free parking. Surrounded by a good selection of eateries.
Had to use the booking machine in the foyer as the desks were closed even though it was only half eight. Self service is OK unless the people in front wouldn't ordinarily use it, then every one waits longer! Easy access and good parking but the premier seats are an after thought installed to offer something and nothing really worth the extra. The food was good, too pricey for what it was. Otherwise it's a cinema that's clean tidy and no hassle
