A fab place to visit in Birmingham. Free entry and includes a fantastic collection of artefacts from Ancient Egypt through to a contemporary collection on modern women. Great layout and technologically advanced exhibitions that help reveal the stories of life centuries ago. Ideal for school or family trips too. Really nice little museum with some great local history!
I only had about an hour to explore the museum, so I definitely didn't manage to see everything. My main intention was to see the Staffordshire Hoard exhibition, which was beautifully designed, with a variety of objects, videos, reenactments and activities, etc. Then I briefly looked around the Near Eastern, Egyptian, Greek, Roman and A History of Birmingham exhibitions. I definitely need to visit another occasion with more time on my hands. The staff were friendly and very helpful; a credit to the museum.
It is a nice place place but only go there if you have time and patience
World class museum, with its own great architecture. Excellent exhibit on the Staffordshire hoard that must be seen!
