We used to rent a unit here but felt bitterly let down by the service. Staff have always been friendly but events left our company very concerned over safety as well as service.1) arrived one night to find building alarm going off. 2) waited 15-20 mins with no sign of security so we decided to call the main phone line to report incident as we had no idea whether it was safe to enter3) security finally called out yet operator seemed to have no idea the alarm was going off4) eventually got in and found unit locked by safestore over a 20 invoice! Despite being a long term tenant and all payments made by DD so they could have just taken payment. Turned around and went home5) another time we could not access unit as floor work was being done (painting i think) YET we were not informed even though they claimed we were.6) turned out only tenants who visit a lot were told and not us even though we visit roughly 3to4 times a month.7) company had to spend a lot to temporary unload van and then hire a company to load unit againShockingly poor customer service so moved back to Big Yellow who matched rental. Bigger lifts x 2. Better parking. Better service. Shame we even used safestore....Recommend businesses not risk using them and move before they cost you as much as they cost us

DO NOT USE THIS STORE. They are thieves, they will trap you in a contract by telling you one price then hit you with a bill of 10X the price they told you. They will lock your items away and then harass you with phone calls until you pay the ridiculous amount to have your items back. I was told a completely different price when I signed up and now have been charged over 100 for insurance. Each staff member will tell you different things and state they will help you get your money back but they are LIARS. I am going through a legal process at the moment to ensure this doesnt happen to other people. Ive used other safestores and never had a problem. Seems like the management here are up to something else. DO NOT USE.
This branch has great facilities. Really friendly and helpful staff. I feel like access is unusual unless you are a customer, where you can park within the gated area.
Excellent customer service received from Sam, Leigh, Sim and Joshan. Friendly individuals, who cant do enough for you. I have been a Safestore customer for more than 1 year now and I would strongly recommend Safestore Birmingham Central to my family/friends or anyone else who needs storage space short/long term.
