Im a regular customer here since they opened. They sell 100s of bikes & yes they do make mistakes just as Halfords do & all shops do. Some reviews here are a bit suspect as one guy said he had about 10 faults which is impossible & another said his bike needed 200 repairs on a cheap bike between 50-75 , any bike over 50 comes with a 7 day guarantee & he could have took it back & they would have sorted it. They make the process of buying used bikes safer & cheaper as you get a receipt with it. They are inbetween Halfords & private sellers. Also remember you will mainly hear of the mistakes here & not from the 100s of happy customers or otherwise they wouldnt have lasted there for 5/6 years. They have saved me 100s on repairs over the years. Try it for yourself & see?
Sold me a bike which I then had problems with within 2 weeks. I then took to a proper bike shop to get it checked and to find out it needed 200 worth of repairs. AVOID.
This is a place where you could get pretty good used Bikes at cheap prices. They have a wide variety of different brands, models and sizes as well as 'grades' of use. So be sure to go directly to examine their stock and do a test ride before committing any money.So why the low rating? Well, I have always used Bargain Centre for all my Biking needs and problems, but very recently I have decided never to go there again! I got a pretty new Raleigh EVO 7SP folding bike from a friend and decided to do a full servicing just to smooth things out, only to be discouraged that the Bike should be binned because the folding hinge is broken.I later discovered that the Service technician was so wrong, and he was able to tighten the supposed 'broken' hinge, simply by using an Allen key and turning the hinge bolt correctly clockwise (claiming that he only wants to make it work for a short while so I can get home 'safely'). Since I had tried to fix this Bike myself previously, I examined what he had done, and realised that he had actually fixed the issue without knowing it, and the Bike was now in a full working order.My experience has basically made me realise that just because they've been in business for a long time and behave like professionals doesn't mean they know much, as they are completely oblivious to simple Cycle maintenance problems.
A great range of secondhand bikes at good prices and friendly, helpful staff. It does help to know a bit about bikes especially when picking a adult commuter bike. For growing children this is like the gold mine of bike exchange/part exchange, because they outgrow their bikes and you can keep them on wheels without having to buy new or oversize bikes for them to grow into.
