Worst GP I've ever been to! Constantly rejecting my repeat prescription, lack of management of my blood tests, lack of communication with my hospital doctors, being sent away with poor/generic advice when I am immunosuppressed and autoimmune, they make me manage my own illness by making me the middleman/messenger to my hospital doctors instead of managing things themselves, and just down right dangerous when they don't have the correct information/tests results so they make ill informed decisions that could cause horrendous problems with my chronic disease. Definitely DO NOT recommend this GP! Do your research and find somewhere better.
ABSOLUTELY AVOID at all costs, I agree with others here that this is the worst practice I have ever been to. I was deregistered in a sinister way after being a patient for less than four years claiming I no longer live within the catchment area (yet I live in the city centre 5 mins away and have never moved), I complained to the NHS England complaints team In Worcester but Halcyon generally brushed off what happened. Nothing further I can do...for now.But I will warn everyone reading this that In reality what is happening is firstly greed, and secondly, the probable deregistering of indigenous British born patients to make way for Chinese speaking patients instead, but they made a mistake with me because my wife (who is part Chinese herself and lives at the same address) did not receive the same nasty deregistering letter as I did, no coincidence there. Seems the main motivation of Halcyon is pure wanton greed, perhaps the 83,000 salary Mr. Nye already receives from the taxpayer is not enough. To add insult it is near on impossible to get an appointment here via the telephone, and a minimum wait time of a month otherwise, plus the absolutely incompetent, smug Indian woman in charge of reception desperately needs a basic course in manners needs sacking now, how she ever got a job doing what she does I will never know. A complete disgrace and another example of the total and utter failure of NHS public services in the Birmingham area, now i'm left without an NHS dentist, and now also no doctor either, not one locally is either taking on new NHS patients or is remotely fit for purpose, an absolute third world standard in central Birmingham unless you pay private which of course was the Tory plan all along. Meanwhile the doctor's and managers get paid ridiculous sums of cash while everyday people are at home self diagnosing on the internet, buying meds from online pharmacy sites and pulling their own teeth with pliers - reality of modern Britain in 2018.
Really lovely gp clinic. Have been going here for a while now and have never had a bad experience. Most of the reception staff are also really quite lovely!
First impression.... Good. thought I would write after reading some of the other reviews about the reception.. I went today, Wednesday, at just after 12 (Uni is on summer break so that might make a. difference)... only a couple of people waiting in reception. the reception was a polite young lady, seemed friendly enough, was happy to answer my questions (I needed to apply to be a out of area patient). I couldn't remember my current gp details...the receptionist was happy to look it up on the database. a plesant experience.
The most stupid booking service Ive ever seen. You can only book the same day and you need to call at 8 AM, when you will find a 15 people long queue so that when its your turn they will say we havent any slots for today, please call tomorrow. Impossible to see a doctor this way
