Nice little park and brook surrounded woodland. Quiet enough to walk your dog and have a short walk. No playground area or kids play areas. The Sarehole Mill National trust tea house is right beside the parking entrance for ease of access.
Victorian Day was interesting but not much to do really, not sure it was worth the money as the actual mill was not working on the day. They do have crafts everyday in the holidays for kids and a trail. Tea room is quite limited so didnt get anything from there.Edited: I did return for Baking day during the summer holidays which was great. Although there was no actual baking my daughter enjoyed making the no bake brownies and dropped scones. We did the trail and she got a small prize at the end. Thought wed get something from the tea room this time, dont stock any sandwiches or food for lunch so tried the Victoria sponge which was way too sweet in my opinion but the tea was good.
Fabulous, well-preserved historic venue. Worth visiting whether you have an interest in Lord of the Rings or not.If you are interested in Tolkien, there is much to see & you can work out where the story fits to the structure.
Was a good close place to go but I'll give it one star less for the fact we went in but the woman never told us that the mill itself weren't in operation for quite a while. We weren't told this till after we bought the tickets and went inside, one of the main reasons to visit is to see the mill in operation an possibly be able to get fresh bread . That did disappoint me an the family.
