Very good everything was explained to me
The service you will get here depends massively on the vets they have when you go to visit. Because it is a budget vets there are a lot of locum vets. Some amazing, some diabolical.The desk staff/nurses are all lovely.BAD EXPERIENCESWe have 2 cats. One 22 years old, the other 11 years old. We took the 22 year old cat in once for her routine checkup. It was a locum vet. She terrorised our cat so much she screamed. She has never done that before. When my mum mentioned it to the desk staff. They told her they had had complaints about that vet. Our 11 year old cat had scabs on her nose that would not heal for over 3 years, and recurrent runny nose on one side. We took her there repeatedly. Every tine it was a different vet. Every time they gave her the same medication that blatantly did not work. Repeatedly they said it was ring worm, except ringworm medication never worked. In fact it made her depressed, and caused kidney damage. They put her on round after round of antibiotics and anti-fungals. The runny nose would clear a little and return a week later. Because obviously bacteria and fungus had colonised the scab and tumourous raw tissue beneath. I begged them to test for skin cancer, they refused. Eventually I took her to fivelands vets. They immediately refered her to a specialist. Low and behold she had skin cancer on her nose and kidney failure as a side effect from the medication. Thanks to all the anti fungal medication value vets pumped into her for YEARS. Just because she had had ring worm ONCE. My poor cat now has chronic kidney failure thanks to them. Luckily she overcame the depression the medication causes. But the worst is that she has had to have a significant part of her nose removed because they let the tumour grow for over 3 years. Why didnt I do anything sooner? I was stupid enough to trust the vets. She also has chronic rhinitis due to the repeated unsuitable treatment.GOOD EXPERIENCES They have kept our 22 year old cat going.We rescued a young seagull, but did not have time to get it to a sanctuary. They took it in, and the next day when I rang they had sent it to a sanctuary. No charge!We feed a lot of strays. One came to us with a gangrenous neck wound. We took him in and a wonderful proper old English gent of a vet did the surgery. He described how close the wound was to his jugular vein. A careless vet would have killed him for sure. This guy saved him. We will forever be grateful to that vet. And of course he isnt there anymore. The better the vet, the less likely you are to see them there again. There was one Eastern Europe male vet who is a confessed cat lover. He was amazing.Its extremely hit and miss there. But the nurses are golden.
We bring our cat and very rambunctious puppy here. It is a budget service but the vets are very kind and patient - we have had no complaints so far.
Seem more interested in taking as much money as possible than animals wellbeing.
Disgusting! Our dog was deteriorating in which we thought was due to heat and being in season, we took her to the vets multiple times and each time we were just given antibiotics which did nothing each time, we then turned to scans, multiple scans, they found nothing wrong with her. It seemed as though they were baffled so the easy option for them was to have her put down, because she would not survive an operation because of how weak she had become. We were minutes away from arranging an appointment, when a friend recommended a different vets which they swore blind by. Within hours of being there they found a cyst on her ovaries, they operated within a day and within 2 weeks our dog Made a full recovery. I am just disgusted at the fact that value vets that they didnt know what it was so they just thought, oh we will have to put her down. To think we were minutes from having her put down! Just complete money spinners, wanted money for absolute nothing.
